LipiTUM – A Computational Platform for Lipidomics and Lipotyping in Systems Medicine

Dr. Josch Konstantin Pauling, Technische Universität München

Lipids are important and versatile biomolecules which provide numerous cellular functions and lipid profiles often reflect health-conditions. This project will combine bioinformatics, mass spectrometry, lipidomics and systems medicine to establish workflows for spectral analysis, data mining, and computational modeling to integrate lipidomics into existing multi-omic systems biology. We will develop modern computational lipidomic capacities and translate them to precision medicine applications to add a new lipid dimension to stratifying patients in search for novel prevention, diagnostic, and targeted treatment strategies.
