Computational Population Modeling from Big Medical Image Data

The rapidly growing amount of digital data in medicine opens up new avenues for creating advanced patient models. Imaging data will play a key role in such models as it provides rich phenotypic information. In this multi-disciplinary project, we will develop novel algorithms for the automatic extraction of quantitative measures from images across the body and their association to disease. Such an advanced computational modeling has the potential to identify new biomarkers of disease and to assess the disease risk more accurately.
