Annual call for proposals 2022
The bidt contributes to a better understanding of the developments and challenges posed by the digital transformation. In doing so, it provides the foundations for shaping the future of society in a responsible and common good-oriented manner. It promotes outstanding interdisciplinary research and provides decision-makers in politics and business with evidence-based recommendations. Thereby, the institute actively promotes an open dialog between science and society.
The topics and challenges of the digital transformation affect various scientific disciplines and can only be meaningfully addressed in interdisciplinary cooperation. Therefore, the bidt pursues a consistently interdisciplinary approach that is unique in Germany.
With this call for proposals, the bidt invites submissions for interdisciplinary consortium projects. These projects are usually conducted by three academic partners from Bavaria over a period of three years. For this purpose, the bidt provides funds for the participating institutions, which can cover up to 75 percent of the costs of a full-time employee without a doctorate (doctoral candidate), and up to 100 percent for employees with a doctorate.
These project staff members work at the location of their institution, but exchange information about their research activities and their results at regular intervals at the bidt. Thus, the bidt follows an agile working approach. For the consortium projects, this means that the results are presented and discussed within the framework of sprint reviews.
